Hey Everyone
Here’s the plan…As you know I’m doing a virtual run over to Ellen’s. I want to make it the 1,222.25 miles from my home in Montana to the Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank by mid December to see a taping of the Ellen TV show before the end of the year. I figure mid December is when she’ll be filming the last Ellen TV show before they go on their Christmas/New Year Break, so I’m going to need to average 36 miles running per week in order to make it there by December. Coming off of a back injury this winter it will be a challenge….but that’s what a challenge is for, huh?
We chose to fundraise for Guide Dogs for the Blind while we’re at it. Since I’m legally blind, it seemed an appropriate charity to pick. While I myself don’t need a guide dog, it’s nice to know that if I ever do need one, there are organizations like Guide Dogs for the Blind out there to help me with that. For now, I’m navigating just fine using my white cane.
We set our goal to raise $30,000 for Guide Dogs for the Blind. So that means we only need 3 people to donate $10,000 each :0
or 3,000 people to donate $10 each or 30,000 people to donate $1 each. Or of course, some variation of that…I figure pretty much everyone can donate $1 with out too much hardship, and the more each person donates, the better!
Anyway, we’re excited…So we’ll be keeping you posted with the numbers for our fundraising, as well as my mileage and any updates on my quest to get tickets to see a taping of the Ellen TV show.
See you at my regular blog at www.RunnerInsight.com where we put up new posts three times a week about my adventures as a blind runner…
How ’bout it?
